Steve’s international business experience gives him unique insight into a wide range of markets. He has the ability to listen, investigate and analyze business needs, then advise his customers accordingly. Steve is influential and over the years he has honed his professional negotiation skills.

Kim Davies brings more than 10 years of real estate administration and advertising experience to the team at Business Finders Canada.

As a licensed real estate associate for many years and our current Managing Broker, she has a deep understanding of what it takes to run a busy, successful real estate brokerage. Her extensive experience with real estate software gives her the ability to provide hands-on training and support to new and seasoned business brokers.

Real estate is not Kim’s first career. She’s worked in a variety of fields, ranging from fire and flood restoration to visual language interpretation for Okanagan University College in Vernon. Her desire to help people is what drew her to a career in real estate.

She is well known for her excellence in service, honesty in communication, and integrity in business.

David Thomas, BA, DEALMAKER

David Thomas, BA, DEALMAKER

David Thomas is a real estate professional with 35 years of experience helping owners and tenants achieve their needs and long-term goals. He has helped many landlords take their property to its highest and best use, helping with rezoning, financing and design to become profitable ventures and community landmarks. He has also helped many companies create an ideal office or retail space that allowed their business to flourish.

David earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Brock University and began his career in the advertising industry with CJRN radio in Niagara Falls, then moving to Vancouver to work at CFUN Radio.

He joined Royal Lepage Commercial Real Estate downtown Vancouver as an office leasing and sales agent, earning the position of associate vice-president in 1989. David represented various landlords in downtown Vancouver including CN Pension Fund for Pender Place at 700 and 750 West Pender, London Life Insurance for 800 West Hastings. David’s career expanded with a contract with Lonsdale Quay Development Corporation and BC Rail for the leasing and sales of development sites on the North Vancouver Waterfront and with Ontario Teachers Plan for Capilano Business Park.

David Started Westreal Realty Specializing in commercial sales, leasing and land development in North and West Vancouver and later expanded the business to include a residential division and project management team. Westreal was successful in many major projects including the Silva, 700 Marine, Ambleside Place, and the sale of several investment properties and major lease transactions. Westreal Realty merged with Sotheby’s International Realty and David remained as associate broker specializing in the sale of residential development sites.

David moved to Kelowna in 2015 to seek sunshine and golf. He is a member of Harvest Golf Club and The Mission Tennis Club.

Nelson Bayford, DEALMAKER

Nelson Bayford has a passion for business.

His 35-plus years of experience includes real estate, financial services, business brokerage and franchising, both as an owner and advisor. Nelson started his career in real estate in Alberta. Nelson is a graduate of the Canadian Securities Institute (C.S.C). He has structured and promoted several joint ventures and private equity placements in Canada and internationally.

Nelson understands the negotiation process of buying and selling a business. The first essential step in a successful transaction is a Business Market Valuation, as a basis for negotiation between seller and buyer.

Andrew Pohl has a long and diverse history in the hospitality industry. Growing up, his owned a motel in a resort town in the East Kootenay region of B.C. It was an early education in the inner workings of a small business, and the demands that come with it. With a vision toward owning his own business, Andrew graduated from the business administration program at Calgary’s Mount Royal University.

He acquired a neighbourhood pub early in his final year of studies (while still a teenager). One successful operation led to another, and for several years he was the hands-on operator of two Calgary pubs. He went on to gather International experience doing market development in Asia for a Canadian medical company.

Lifestyle and Family brought Andrew to the Okanagan about a decade ago, and he hasn’t once looked back. His pragmatic nature, commitment to integrity, and first-hand experience in buying and selling multiple businesses, make Andrew a natural fit to the Business Finders Canada team.

He has been involved in real estate developments throughout Western Canada in excess of $50 million over the past nine years and has developed a great network of business and property owners. He has also enjoyed success in small business consulting, property management, and large commercial/industrial construction projects.

As a business broker and licensed REALTOR®, John-Erik also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, specializing in project management. He also has a mechanical engineering diploma. A lifelong career consisting of all aspects of business operations has led Dave Manuel to Business Finders Canada.

His previous endeavors include building, operating, managing businesses and overseeing management. Later Dave moved into business consulting, commercial equipment leasing, and finance.

Having built from scratch two businesses, one doing $50 million in sales over a 12-year period, the other a franchise. He’s since sold both and is no stranger to the process of readying a business for sale.

As a business owner and operator himself and having professionally dealt with three levels of government, Dave gained valuable experience in various levels of management. Over the years, Dave has held many licences in assorted fields of business, including the building of a customized two-tier auto lease portfolio (MVSABC) as well as spending three years in a commercial equipment leasing.

Rob lives in Kamloops, B.C., and has done consulting with First Nations communities undertaking the restructure of economic development entities. This process entails working with government agencies, development organizations and private businesses.

Chris Yong has 26 years of working experience in the property and development industry.

She spent 20 years of her career as a successful property negotiator in Asia. She is conversant in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Malay. Chris has also started learning Korean.

She brings with her a strong clientele base which she hopes will continue to propel the property and development industry forward in the Okanagan Valley.

Having settled here for six years, Chris sees immense potential in various growth sectors of the property industry that is dormant and remains largely untapped. It is this sector that she targets and hopes to open new vistas of opportunities for the Okanagan.

Having worked for publicly listed companies and wealthy individuals in the Far East, Chris understands that advanced information, confidentiality, connectivity, and speed are what is needed to give her clients the edge over others.
